Profile
So, a little bit about me …
I actually studied Microbiology at Liverpool University which I carried on through to Master’s level at Bordeaux University/Institute Nationale de Rescherche Agronomique whilst sequencing the DNA of Mycoplasma iowea, but that was in another life – and I wont bore you with it.
Having had an interest in photography for a number of years, I decided to study a photographic course (Plymouth PCAD), at an early stage, I was interested in ‘mixed-media techniques’ like montage, painting onto prints, emulsion/developer washes and creative printing which eventually led to Photoshop (v3!) and although this was not part of the course, I used the college’s facilities to teach myself from various books and magazines. I was also interested in the creative evolution of visual photography that seemed to be led by the current dance music scene – an artist called Buggy Riphead’s work on many of Future Sound of London’s work like the video for ‘Lifeforms’ which although might look dated now, I must have sat down and watched 10 times in a row.
Although I still have a passion for photography, I decided that I was better suited to a more backroom postproduction role, and that has developed into a career spanning Photoshop photographic postproduction, Illustrative manipulation and a whole host of complimentary graphic and web design services, and I currently oversee the entire postproduction/media arrangements of some of my clients.
So that takes me to here and now, I am beavering away at the postproduction and design work that I am getting from my regular contacts, as well as learning new techniques like e-commerce design, and 3d modelling in Modo. I am always interested in making new contacts and working on challenging projects encompassing a wide range of mediums. So if you need help, or would just like to get in touch – contact me.
