Featured Retouching Sample 04:
We wanted to create a symetrical and polished graphic image featuring the various products available in this cosmetics range and decided, in this case, that the original photography was not really good enough for what we wanted to produce. Also, part of the project was to retouch all the individual items rather than in part of a group.
My solution was to create a path of the shape of the bottle, take the best bottle top - and use this for every item. I took the original artwork (from Illustrator) for the labels to accurately position a new label and painted in an appropriate colour for each bottles contents. For the 'polished look', I think it is important that the images match up. Finally, I created some highlights along the contours to accentuate the 3D shape.
Finally, I placed all the items together and added a reflection, which was incorporated into the design of the final poster.
